A man was arrested yesterday after police found a prescription drug containing the active ingredient of Viagra, the same drug which has been prescribed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the police station on the north coast of Tokyo and is being held on bail.
The investigation into the incident was launched after police discovered the prescription drug that had been purchased over the counter at a pharmacy in Nanshan, near the city centre.
Police seized the drug at a local pharmacy, and a search of the pharmacy took place at a house in Nanshan, about 45 km from the capital.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was arrested after the investigation was launched.
Police arrested the man after he was found in possession of a pill that he was selling to a man in Nanshan.
He was later charged with sale of an over the counter drug containing the active ingredient of Viagra and with selling it to a man at a pharmacy.
The man was also ordered to pay $1,000 a year for the prescription and to pay a further $1,500 for the medical treatment, which he was given.
The man has since been released from prison and his family are happy with his condition.
